OOTD || Boho

Happy Thursday Everyone!

I recently did a little photoshoot with my super amazing friend Brandy to test out her new camera! She was looking for something natural and earthy, so this is the look I came up with!

I am absolutely in love with this boho look because it is simple and trendy with a cropped top and jean skirt. I'm the type who doesn't enjoy outfits that are too busy and restricting. I like to move around and be crazy and stuff... and this outfit lets me do that! Simple = comfortable.

I got this loose knitted crop top from Tilly's (of corse). The sleeves get wider towards my hands like bell bottom jeans which gives it that retro hippy vibe. To compliment the top, I wore a truly retro high-waisted jean skirt by Guess. This skirt was worn by my mom in the 80s, so it really is a throwback! I'm sure that anyone can find a similar jeans skirt now since they're really coming back in style! Finally, on my feet I'm just wearing some simple strappy sandals I picked up from Target!

For my hair, I just worked in some moroccan oil mousse and braided it into 2 dutch braids the night before while it was still damp and slept with them in! In the morning I removed the braids and sprayed in some John Frieda Beach Blonde sea salt spray and tousled my hair a bit! Tadaaaa!

If anyone is from Southern California and is looking for a quite place outdoors to escape, come to the San Elijo Lagoon Conservancy!

MAKEUP MONDAY!!!

ALRIGHT so I've noticed that I haven't been posting much about makeup recently, so I'm gonna change that!
Usually in the summer I use less makeup because I don't leave my house as much and I'm just a lazy person in general! However, this is one of those rare occasions when I found enough motivation to really focus on my makeup!

And now, I'll show you what I did!

On my face:

*Maybelline Master Prime primer in Blur + Illuminate 200
*Stila HD Beauty Balm
*Maybelline Better Skin concealer in Light
*Maybelline Mineral Powder in Translucent
*Too Faced Milk Chocolate Soleil Matte Bronzer in Light/Medium
*Maybelline Master Hi-light blush in Coral
*Revolution Vivid Baked Highlighter in Radiant Lights
*Maybelline Brow Drama Sculpting Brow Mascara in Soft Brown
*Revlon Colorstay Liquid Eye Pen in Blackened Brown - middle of top eyelid out to wing
*NYX Gel Pencil Liner in Brown - bottom corner of eyes

*Maybelline The Nudes eyeshadow Pallet:
-Third from top right for lids
- Second from top left for crease
-Second from bottom right for corners

*Covergirl Lashblast Fusion in Very Black
*Maybelline Color Jolt Intense Lip Paint in Stripped Down

Stila Beauty Balm is something I swear by! It's coverage is very light, perfect for summer, and has 3 different shades: a dark tan, a peachy shade, and a neutral shade. It is easy to apply and the coverage lasts all day! I never have an issue of smearing or caking. It looks natural and feels light and clean!

I am also in love with Covergirl's Lashblast Volume and Fusion formulas. My lashes always look full and never clumpy! It was my first ever mascara and I've been using it for a total of 7 years now! LOVE LOVE LOVE!

Finally, I've recently become obsessed with Maybelline's new Color Jolt Lip Paint. I've only tried the Stripped Down shade, but I'm already in love. I've been looking for lip shades that are neutral and have tones of brown, peach and purple... if you can imagine that shade... Anyway! This shade is perfectly natural looking and basically makes my natural lip color pop! I will definitely be purchasing it again!

OOTD | Express!!!

I am SO excited to show you guys this outfit I put together! I recently went up to San Luis Obispo with my friend to hang out and shop! Downtown is incredibly cute and clean, I just love it up there. ANYWAY we stopped in Express as we were roaming the streets and I found something I've been looking for for quite some time now....

A CROPPED BLACK LEATHER JACKET!!!

Thank you Express! I have been hunting for this item and have found cute ones for a FORTUNE! I don't have that kind of money! I found this beauty in the store for $98. Yes that sounds like a lot, but it's a steal compared to the other prices I've seen.

Jacket: Express
Top: Express
Choker: Tilly's
Belt: Gap
Jeans: Pac Sun

Currently I'm super obsessed with off the shoulder tops and white on black. It looks super sophisticated and modern! You can wear this outfit with or without the jacket, perfect for day and night! I also picked up some old school black vans that I'm pretty stoked about! I like to wear them with outfits like these by cuffing my jeans and wearing no show socks!

OOTD & HOTD Summer

Hello world!

Today I will be showing you a super cute dress I found while shopping around at Tilly's a little while ago. If you haven't guessed already, yes I do love this store. I particularly like this outfit because it is incredibly simple, cute, and perfect for summer.

As you can see, this dress has a deep neck kind of in between a v-neck and a scoop neck. The dress has buttons down the entire front, which sounds a little scary but they're pretty tight so they won't come undone randomly. xD
The dress ties in the back which you'll see in the next picture, which gives it a nice pull at the waist.

The back of this dress looks like a corset and ties at the bottom. This is what pulls the waist in. You can adjust the tightness of the corset tie. I think this is a very cute aspect of the dress!

Hair:

Always use heat protection! I use Redken Smooth Lock leave-in cream on the ends of my hair when it is damp. For the curls, I used a 1 inch curling iron and twisted 1 inch sections of my hair around the barrel as you would with a curling wand. I curled the sections away from my face. I ended with some Paul Mitchel hair spray and ran my fingers through the curls to loosen them up!

These are just some simple strappy sandals I picked up from Target a while back. I have found this pair extremely useful in many of my other summer outfits.
However, I only have one pair, so if anyone has any suggestions where I can find some new strappy sandals, please let me know!

HEALTHY SNACK TIME

WOOHOO! Healthy snack hype! Yeah!

Alright maybe it's not that exciting, but it actually tastes kinda good. What is it you ask?
-Bananas, honey, cinnamon-
Boom.

I'm gonna be honest with you, I'm no health crazy super vegan athletic chick with a strict diet. I bake brownies at least once a week and I currently have a handful of York peppermint patties shoved in my purse. But hey, me being a junk food lover must mean this healthy snack is pretty darn good.

And it is.

So basically it's just a sliced banana sprinkled with cinnamon and RAW honey from a JAR spread around the rim to dip. Pretty simple.

I think the only odd-ball here is the fact that I used raw & organic honey instead of the one from the squeeze jar. I'm sure the one from the jar would work just fine, but I'm trying to be as healthy as possible haha.
Plus it tasted pretty darn good and I'm not much of a honey person!

So there you go! Test this one out and add it to your summer diet!

OOTD | Tilly's

Good afternoon everyone! I am SO hyped over this outfit I put together! It was inspired by a picture of Jenna Joseph (wife of Tyler Joseph, singer in Twentyone Pilots♥) I spotted while snooping around on Instagram!

Tilly's is honestly one of my most favorite clothing stores. I hauled in about 7 items the other day, and this item features two of them!
Bralette: Tilly's
Top: Tilly's
Jeans: Pac Sun
Boots: Tilly's

Here is where you can find the outfit by Jenna Joseph that I based mine off of!

I am in LOVE with this bralette, and I've been searching for one like this forever! I think paired with the cropped loose white top and ripped high waisted jeans makes for a very sophisticated look.

As for makeup, I'm always down for simple. I used black mascara and added some drama with a black liner wing and waterproof pencil liner in the bottom corner of my eyes. I also added a pop of color with some nice red lipstick!

LIFE UPDATE

My GOODNESS has it been a while. Life gets a little busy in high school, but now that I have graduated, I can finally focus on the things I want to do!

This summer began with a trip to Hawaii and Yosemite. Two amazingly beautiful places! If anyone is off to Oahu any time soon, I recommend stopping by the Aloha Stadium swap meet. I found some super cheap bits of jewelry! A pair of fresh water pink pearl earrings and a beautifully designed sterling silver ring! I'd also recommend hiking to Waimea falls and chilling out at the Waimea beach! Yes, I came back very sunburned.
Romper from Tilly's

Top: Tilly's
Shorts: Brandy Melville

I've been able to read a lot this summer as well, thank the heavens! I really recommend reading The Silent Sister and a series called Mrs. Peregrines Home For Peculiar Children, if you're interested in some creepy fantasy!

In addition, I have explored some new makeup styles, formed a new skincare regime, and purchased some new lovely bits of clothes that I am anxious to share! I will do so once I find a working camera around here... I'm not an experienced blogger, obviously!

Finally, as I am inching closer to becoming a college student, I might throw in some college prep posts and hauls here and there, and maybe some tips for those future college students out there! We'll see!

I truly hope that I can finally dive in to the blogging world, as I am very eager to write and share  bits and pieces of things I pick up here and there, as well as learn new things about the wonderful world of fashion and beauty!
