OOTD || Boho

Happy Thursday Everyone!

I recently did a little photoshoot with my super amazing friend Brandy to test out her new camera! She was looking for something natural and earthy, so this is the look I came up with!

I am absolutely in love with this boho look because it is simple and trendy with a cropped top and jean skirt. I'm the type who doesn't enjoy outfits that are too busy and restricting. I like to move around and be crazy and stuff... and this outfit lets me do that! Simple = comfortable.

 I got this loose knitted crop top from Tilly's (of corse). The sleeves get wider towards my hands like bell bottom jeans which gives it that retro hippy vibe. To compliment the top, I wore a truly retro high-waisted jean skirt by Guess. This skirt was worn by my mom in the 80s, so it really is a throwback! I'm sure that anyone can find a similar jeans skirt now since they're really coming back in style! Finally, on my feet I'm just wearing some simple strappy sandals I picked up from Target!

For my hair, I just worked in some moroccan oil mousse and braided it into 2 dutch braids the night before while it was still damp and slept with them in! In the morning I removed the braids and sprayed in some John Frieda Beach Blonde sea salt spray and tousled my hair a bit! Tadaaaa!

If anyone is from Southern California and is looking for a quite place outdoors to escape, come to the San Elijo Lagoon Conservancy!

OOTD & HOTD Summer

Hello world!

Today I will be showing you a super cute dress I found while shopping around at Tilly's a little while ago. If you haven't guessed already, yes I do love this store. I particularly like this outfit because it is incredibly simple, cute, and perfect for summer.

As you can see, this dress has a deep neck kind of in between a v-neck and a scoop neck. The dress has buttons down the entire front, which sounds a little scary but they're pretty tight so they won't come undone randomly. xD
The dress ties in the back which you'll see in the next picture, which gives it a nice pull at the waist.

The back of this dress looks like a corset and ties at the bottom. This is what pulls the waist in. You can adjust the tightness of the corset tie. I think this is a very cute aspect of the dress!

Hair:

Always use heat protection! I use Redken Smooth Lock leave-in cream on the ends of my hair when it is damp. For the curls, I used a 1 inch curling iron and twisted 1 inch sections of my hair around the barrel as you would with a curling wand. I curled the sections away from my face. I ended with some Paul Mitchel hair spray and ran my fingers through the curls to loosen them up!

These are just some simple strappy sandals I picked up from Target a while back. I have found this pair extremely useful in many of my other summer outfits.
However, I only have one pair, so if anyone has any suggestions where I can find some new strappy sandals, please let me know!
